Helping Providers and Families Access Health Insurance for Disability and Autism Related Services
For many years, Ms. Bouer worked as an insurance coverage litigator for the top NJ law firms and insurers, including CNA, the Home Insurance Company, and Sills Cummis & Gross. Prior to that time, she worked as an insurance broker.

Ms. Bouer opened her Firm after successfully pursuing health insurance first for a family member, then a gravely ill friend and later, a child diagnosed with autism. She realized there was a great need for a law firm that specializes in representing providers, policyholders and insurance professionals in pursuit of erroneously denied health insurance coverage. As her practice grew, she also gained experience in Special Education law, Guardianships, and Special Needs Trusts and Estate law.

The Bouer Law team includes Jodi Bouer as well as attorney, Kim Mack Rosenberg, who has 20 years of Big Firm experience as a litigator with insurance and other experience. Kim is also a long-time advocate for the autism and disability communities in New York. We work together to come up with a strategy to help our clients access insurance in the most pragmatic and least expensive way. Bouer Law also employs a coding and billing paralegal who has managed medical offices for over 20 years. Our coding and billing paralegal helps to formulate and implement strategy, provides coding and billing advice, helps with appeals, and responds to insurer queries, billing issues and audits. We also employ a paralegal with extensive litigation and other experience in Special Education, Guardianship and Special Needs Trust & Estate law.

Together, the Bouer Law team has substantial experience filing appeals and external review applications and litigating all types of coverage actions including but not limited to actions involving health insurance plans governed by ERISA and the Federal Mental Health Parity Act.

Our goal is to provide cost-effective, practical advice on: accessing insurance coverage; preparing appeals and external review applications, supporting medical necessity/authorizations, prosecuting and defending billing disputes, responding to recoupment and fraud allegations, providing coding and billing advice; and pursuing/defending related litigations or arbitrations.
